The Importance of Using Your Brain
One of the defining characteristics that set humans apart from other animals is our intellectual ability. Our brains have evolved over thousands of generations due to a diet rich in meat and seafood and a reliance on complex thought. This brings us to Primal Blueprint Law #10: Use Your Brain.
Our ancestors used their brains for survival in various ways:
- Cataloging plant and animal species based on toxicity and nutritional value.
- Improving hunting weapons.
- Tracking animals and understanding their behaviors.
- Navigation using contextual clues.
- Inventing writing, art, literature, and storytelling.
- Hypothesizing about the world.
It is essential to exercise your brain daily to maintain its function:
- Do puzzles like crosswords and sudoku.
- Engage in board games and learn new skills like playing an instrument or a language.
- Read challenging books.
- Solve problems and get involved in your community.
